Nadia Murad Speaks at 5th EU Day Against Impunity

Nadia Murad spoke at the 5th EU Day Against Impunity along with EU Commissioner of Justice Didier Reynders, Croatian Minister of Justice Dražen Bošnjaković, and Eurojust President Ladislav Hamran.

Nadia highlighted the need for ISIS foreign fighters in Europe to be tried for their genocide and war crimes against Yazidis. Germany, the Netherlands, France, Hungary and Finland are setting important precedents by prosecuting ISIS members.

"Survivors and victims of ISIS deserve justice – not empty promises of hope,” Nadia illustrated, "Living without receiving justice is another kind of torture. It is not enough for foreign ISIS fighters to be tried as terrorists. They must be tried for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide. This is especially true for those fighters that enslaved Yazidi women and girls.”
