Nadia's Initiative Supports Hundreds of Survivors of ISIS Captivity and their Families
Nearly six years ago, thousands of Yazidi women and children were kidnapped by ISIS militants and forced into sexual slavery. Almost half of them are still missing. Those who managed to escape and return home to the Sinjar region often faced further challenges. Without government support, these women and their families have been struggling to survive. They are in dire need of basic necessities to support themselves and their families.
As a part of our ongoing efforts to support Yazidi survivors of ISIS captivity and their families, Nadia’s Initiative is launching a new project to provide tangible support in the form of household goods, cash, and psychological support to hundreds of Yazidis survivors and their families. Empowering survivors and their families to rebuild their lives and live with dignity is vital to rebuilding and healing the Yazidi community.
The project was implemented by Nabu NGO thanks to the generous support of the Government of Flanders.
