Water to Accelerate Sinjar's Hope: Kolka Primary School
The long commute to and from school remains one of the most challenging parts of Yazidi students' lives in post-conflict Sinjar. This daily commute is physically and mentally taxing on students, rendering them unable to concentrate on schoolwork.
Nadia's Initiative recognizes that rehabilitating local schools is critical to improving children's well-being, health, and productivity, while strengthening social circles among peers.
To meet student needs, Nadia's Initiative built new and furnished Kolka Primary School on Sinjar Mountain, as part of our comprehensive WASH project, which includes the provision of clean drinking water and sanitation facilities to 17 schools in the region.
