Nadia's Initiative Delivers Medical Supplies to Sinjar General Hospital
From Nadia’s Initiative’s latest distribution of medical supplies, Sinjar Hospital received ECG Machines, beds, defibrillators, and ventilators, among many other items that have enabled the hospital to commence mid-level surgeries.
Yazidi residents of Sinjar have been unable to access surgical care since ISIS’s invasion in 2014. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated weaknesses in Sinjar’s already-depleted healthcare system. Increased numbers of returnees are in dire need of accessible healthcare.
With the generous support of the French Crisis and Support Centre, NI and implementing partner Chaine de l'Espoir opened a new Operating Theater & Maternity Ward in Sinjar General Hospital and are continuing to supply the hospital with equipment needed to respond to the pandemic and everyday medical needs.
