Nadia's Initiative Completes Rehabilitation of Adnaniya Primary Health Center
Even before ISIS’ attacks in 2014, many healthcare facilities in Sinjar did not have the capacity to address the communities most basic and treatable needs. This was a result of decades of targeted resource deprivation that left the Yazidi community in Sinjar with less services than other regions of Iraq. Nadia’s Initiative has made it a priority to restore and improve healthcare facilities in Sinjar to make sure the Yazidi community has access to medical treatment and preventative care.
Recently, Nadia’s Initiative rebuilt and furnished the primary health center in Adnaniya to address the community’s needs for quality and accessible healthcare. To lay the foundations for former residents to sustainably return, Nadia’s Initiative also rehabilitated the WASH infrastructure in the complex and rebuilt a primary school.
