Nadia's Initiative and USAID Rehabilitate Sinjar Transportation Garage

Transportation and commerce are vital to the redevelopment of post-conflict Sinjar. The Sinjar Transportation Garage was in a deteriorating state, with no shelter for the hundreds of taxi drivers and travelers utilizing it daily and no functioning facilities.

Nadia’s Initiative and USAID rehabilitated the garage to create a safe, sustainable public space for the entire Sinjar community. The new and improved garage now has a free-standing roof to protect travelers and drivers from the elements. Additionally, the garage has new restrooms and administrative rooms.
