Nadia Murad Speaks at Girl Up Campaign 2020 Leadership Summit
It seems impossible that one young woman could create the change and awareness to transform her community. As a young woman living in Iraq, Nadia Murad never envisioned herself becoming a global advocate, but when her community was attacked, Nadia knew she had to raise her voice to spread awareness for the thousands of other Yazidi young girls and women just like her.
With a story, a passion, and perseverance, girls can use their voice and fight for what they believe in.
On July 15, Nadia Murad spoke at the Girl Up Campaign’s #GirlsLead20 Leadership Summit to encourage them to use their voices and never give up the fight to create real, meaningful change in their communities and throughout the world. Campaign speakers included Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Meghan Markle, and Priyanka Chopra Jonas, among others.
