Establishing Inclusive Learning Environments for Disabled Students in Sinjar

Inclusion is key to creating comfortable learning environments for all students. To establish more inclusive learning environments in Sinjar, Nadia’s Initiative provided disabled students with electric wheelchairs to improve their learning experience.

Electric wheelchairs will enable these students to stay connected with their friends and teachers, providing opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. To make their access to Sinjar’s schools more equitable, Nadia’s Initiative also rehabilitated the WASH facilities in schools, including installing ramps and disability accessible washrooms, where disabled students are in attendance.
