Business Owner Details Impact of Nadia's Initiative and USAID Sinuni Road Project
“Before rehabilitating Sinuni Main Road, store owners were suffering a lot from the trash and pollution of the surrounding environment. We were facing a lot of challenges in terms of traffic and accidents, especially during special days and celebrations. The movement of cars was very difficult because there was only one accessible side of the road,” Salim told Nadia’s Initiative.
Salim owns an electronics store on Sinuni Main Road. With funding from USAID, Nadia’s Initiative repaved and restored the two-sided street to improve the flow of traffic and increase commerce in North Sinjar.
The new Sinuni Main Road has already improved the area’s commerce and sanitation, which is the main reason Salim opened his store there. Beautification efforts are attracting more customers already!
