A Year in Review: Nadia's Initiative's 2021 Culture Projects

Yazidis have been subjected to violence and discrimination throughout history due to their unique and oft misunderstood religious beliefs. ISIS' systematic destruction of Yazidi temples in Sinjar signified their attempts to eradicate Yazidi religion and culture from the region.

Nadia's Initiative is restoring temples and places of worship across Sinjar to preserve Yazidi culture and counter ISIS’ genocide. Empowering Yazidis to celebrate their heritage is critical to countering the process of genocide, preserving Yazidi culture, and spiritually sustaining the community for generations to come.
