Clean Water Helps Yazidi Returnees in Zorava complex
Clean water is the most important fundamental utility for Yazidi returnees to re-establish their lives in Sinjar. Upon her return to Zorava complex, Sevi, like many others returnees, was faced with a shortage of clean water.
Sevi and her family endured many hardships in displacement, but returning home also proved challenging for them without adequate support to access basic services.
"We chose to return to our home in Zorava. Living there again brought many problems and obstacles due to a lack of essential services, particularly water."
Nadia's Initiative restored the village’s water infrastructure, including installing two new boreholes, pump rooms, and a new water network. We also installed new power transformers in order to connect the village to the electrical network.
"By restoring the destroyed water infrastructure, Nadia's Initiative provided us with renewed hope. We were grateful for the Initiative's swift response to our needs, which allowed us to resume our daily lives."
This project was funded by UAE Aid.
