Yazidi Return in Large Numbers to Sinjar
Just this past month, hundreds of Yazidi women, children, and men have returned to Sinjar, Iraq for the first time since ISIS destroyed their community six years ago. They are returning to a homeland that still lacks basic essentials, such as clean water, health care, adequate shelter, and education.
Nadia’s Initiative is working to restore basic services and empower Yazidi families as they work to rebuild their lives. It has never been more crucial for the global community and the Iraqi government to invest in Sinjar and support survivors of genocide.
