Establishing Savings Groups Among Yazidi Female Entrepreneurs

Women in conflict-affected regions are often underrepresented in both the community and the region's economy, which can result in their increased vulnerability and marginalization.

As a component of our second women’s small business incubator, Nadia’s Initiative helped beneficiaries establish savings groups as a means of bringing women together to support each other. These groups act as a safe environment where women can share their experiences and challenges as small business owners and make financial decisions on how to save and support businesses who may be struggling.

These customized groups also help women develop their leadership skills by enabling them to organize the group and assign the essential roles and duties to maintain the group activities.

At Nadia's Initiative, we believe that working with women to improve their financial stability, mental health, and community engagement facilitates the sustainable development of their families, communities, and entire region.
