Remembering the 2007 Attacks Against the Yazidi Community

ISIS was not the first group to target the Yazidi community, and many fear it will not be the last. In 2007, coordinated car bombings were used to attack Yazidi communities in Tel Azeer and Aljzeera. On August 14, we remember the hundreds of lives that were lost and call for a resolution to the lack of good governance and security in Sinjar that continues to leave the region and Yazidi communities vulnerable to violence.
