Nadia's Initiative Provides Access to Clean Water and Sanitation in Dugure
Access to clean water and sanitation is a priority for Yazidi returnees to Sinjar. Severely damaged water infrastructure impairs the region’s socio-economic development, preventing thousands of Yazidis from reestablishing their livelihoods in a healthy and secure environment.
To meet the region's critical demand for clean water, Nadia’s Initiative is rehabilitating the internal water networks in Dugure complex. As part of our comprehensive WASH project, a total of 7.1 kilometers of internal networks will be rehabilitated/constructed. Additional work done in Dugure includes the rehabilitation of two boreholes, two pump rooms, one electrical transformer, and a water pipe for connecting boreholes with water tanks. This project will provide safe drinking water to over 8,359 residents of Dugure complex.
This project is funded by UAE Aid.
