Nadia's Initiative Executive Director Meets with US National Security Council

On November 2nd, Nadia’s Initiative’s Executive Director, Abid Shamdeen, met with members of the United States National Security Council. During the meeting, Mr. Shamdeen discussed the current situation of Yazidis in Sinjar and Iraq, ongoing security issues in the region, the still missing Yazidi women and children, and tangible ways to support to the community to rebuild and recover, particularly survivors of ISIS captivity. Mr. Shamdeen illustrated the need for the United States to continue supporting the Yazidi community in Iraq to help them recover from the genocide and prevent future violence.
