Nadia's Initiative Distributes 100,000 Masks Throughout Sinjar
Communities affected by conflict are at a disadvantage when it comes to mitigating the spread of COVID-19. In Sinjar, Iraq, ISIS’s genocidal campaign incapacitated the region’s healthcare and sanitation infrastructure and left Yazidis returnees without the means to protect themselves from the virus.
Over the course of the pandemic, we have doubled our efforts to strengthen Sinjar’s pandemic response and provide every household with critical resources. Thanks to the generous support of our partner, the Government of ROC (Taiwan), Nadia’s Initiative distributed 100,000 masks to families and essential workers in Sinjar, Bashiqa, Hamdanya, and IDP camps.
