Nadia's Initiative Brings Clean Water to Bobi Village
After Sinjar was liberated from ISIS in 2017, many Yazidi families began returning to their areas of origin with the hopes of rebuilding their lives. Due to ISIS' immense destruction of public infrastructure, the majority of returnees still struggle to access basic services, such as clean water. For a region that is primarily reliant on agriculture for food and livelihoods, a shortage of water devastates returnees and increases their vulnerability.
To bridge the gap in access to clean water, Nadia’s Initiative is implementing a comprehensive WASH project in the region. In Bobi village in South Sinjar, Nadia’s Initiative built a new water tank, borehole room, and water pump, and constructed a new water network. This project is funded by UAE Aid.
