Nadia Murad Visits Eastern Europe
In late November Nadia made her first trip to Eastern Europe, visiting Hungary and Romania. In both countries she was invited to receive an honorary degree in recognition of her advocacy work.
In Hungary, after speaking at the award ceremony at the University of Ludovika, Nadia joined the country’s President, Katalin Novak to discuss the enduring importance of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In Romania Nadia was awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa at the University of Timisoara. She had the opportunity to address the student body and tell them her story while inspiring future human rights activists. She enjoyed meeting so many engaged and interested students and appreciated the warm welcome she was given.
The visit to Eastern Europe enabled Nadia to bring her message to a new audience and share our mission with the activists of the future.
