Iraqi ISIL Suspect Accused of Yazidi Genocide on Trial in Germany

Germany is the first country to try ISIS perpetrators for genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity, and human trafficking. An Iraqi ISIS fighter and his wife are both being tried for crimes committed against the Yazidis. Barrister Amal Clooney and Nadia Murad are representing the mother of the young victim in the wife’s trial. Germany is setting an important precedent for accountability that the international community must follow.
