Yazidis Gather in Kocho Village to Commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the Kocho Massacre

On August 15, 2024, thousands of Yazidi survivors, victims’ families, local community members, government authorities, and representatives from international and local organizations gathered at the mass grave in Kocho village to mark the 10th anniversary of the Kocho massacre.

The people of Kocho, alongside all survivors, have bravely fought for justice, sharing their stories with the world to expose ISIS for the atrocities they committed against the Yazidis and for their extremist ideology.

The commemoration was a tribute to the martyrs of Kocho and a testament to the courage and resilience of the survivors. Ten years on, they continue their struggle for justice and well-being, on behalf of both their own community and the entire Yazidi population.
