Clean Drinking Water for Gedala Village
Nadia's Initiative recognizes that providing Yazidi returnees with access to clean drinking water requires comprehensive, long-term solutions. That is why we are rehabilitating the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) infrastructure in 22 villages/complexes across Sinjar.
Nadia's Initiative is now working to restore the WASH infrastructure in Gedala village, which is home to Sheikh Mand Temple, a Yazidi holy site previously rebuilt by the Initiative.
With the rehabilitation of a borehole, pump room, galvanized water tank, and the installation of a solar-powered system for running the infrastructure, village residents and all those who visit the Sheikh Mand Temple will have access to safe drinking water for many years to come.
This project is funded by UAE Aid.
