Ahead of August 3rd, Nadia's Initiative Urges International Community Not to Forget Yazidis

Genocide. Sexual Violence. Enslavement. Marginalization. Oppression. Injustice.

The Yazidi community has endured all of the above and more before and since ISIS’ invasion in Sinjar in 2014. The lack of needed investment in the community’s recovery and Sinjar’s rebuilding prolongs the Yazidis’ suffering.

Yazidis deserve justice. Justice is perpetrators being held accountable for their crimes. Justice is adequate reparations and support to survivors to rebuild their lives. Justice is rescuing the still missing women and children. Justice is respecting Yazidis’ human rights despite their minority status.

International action is needed. Yazidis cannot wait another eight years for justice and accountability. We urge you not to forget #August3rd and the #YazidiGenocide.
